Privacy policy
This policy explains how Beetle handles personal data in its apps and on this website. It currently applies to Beetle for Gym, and will apply to future Beetle apps unless an app has its own policy.
Who we are
Beetle is operated by Beetle, AL-76, Bapat Square, Indore, Madhya Pradesh 452010. Contact us at paaw4nnn.2005@gmail.com or +91 95750 02535. The same contact handles privacy questions and grievances.
Whose data, and who is responsible
Beetle for Gym has two kinds of people in it:
- Gym owners, who sign up and use the app. Beetle is responsible for their account data.
- Gym members, whose details a gym owner enters. The gym decides whose data to add and must have the member's agreement. Beetle stores and processes this data on the gym's behalf, to provide the service to that gym.
What we collect
From gym owners
- Phone number, used to sign in with a one-time code (through Google Firebase Authentication)
- Name, gym name, city and state, and optionally email and address
About gym members, entered by the gym
- Name and phone number, and optionally email, date of birth, gender and notes
- Membership plan, joining date, expiry date and amount
- WhatsApp messaging consent and opt-out status, with the date and how it was recorded
Message records
- Which reminder was sent, when, and its delivery status (sent, delivered, read or failed) as reported by WhatsApp
- Replies such as STOP, so we can honour opt-outs
This website
This website uses no tracking cookies, analytics or advertising tools, and has no forms. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP address and time of request, for security.
How we use it
- To run the app: sign-in, member lists, membership status and the dashboard
- To send membership reminders and gym messages to members on WhatsApp, on the gym's behalf
- To keep the service secure, prevent misuse and fix problems
- To give support and meet legal obligations
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
WhatsApp messages
Messages are sent through the WhatsApp Business Platform operated by Meta. When a gym owner adds a member, the owner confirms that the member agreed in person to receive membership updates and offers from that gym via Beetle on WhatsApp. Members can reply STOP at any time, or ask their gym, and we stop further messages. Details are in our WhatsApp messaging and opt-out policy.
Who we share it with
We share data only with service providers that help us run Beetle, and only as needed:
- Google Firebase: owner sign-in
- Meta Platforms (WhatsApp Business Platform): delivering WhatsApp messages; this needs the member's phone number and the message content
- Our hosting and database provider: storing and processing data
These providers may process data outside India. We may also disclose data where required by law. A gym's data is never shown to another gym.
How long we keep it
- Account and member data is kept while the gym's account is active.
- When a gym deletes a member, the record is hidden at once and permanently removed or anonymised within 90 days.
- Message delivery records are kept for 12 months for audit and dispute purposes.
- When a gym closes its account, its data is deleted within 30 days, except records we must keep by law.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections. Each gym can access only its own data. Access to production systems is restricted, and secrets such as API keys are never shared with gyms or stored in the app.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask to access, correct or erase your personal data, withdraw consent, nominate someone to act for you, and raise a grievance. Gym members can contact their gym or us directly. Write to paaw4nnn.2005@gmail.com; we reply within 30 days. See how to delete your data.
Children
Beetle apps are for business owners aged 18 or older. If a gym adds a member under 18, the gym must have a parent or guardian's consent.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we update the effective date above and, for significant changes, tell gym owners in the app or by message before the change applies.
