WhatsApp messaging and opt-out
Who sends the messages
Gyms use Beetle to message their own members on WhatsApp. Messages come from the Beetle WhatsApp account, or from the gym's own WhatsApp number if the gym has connected one, and every message names the gym it is from.
How members agree
When a gym owner adds a member to Beetle for Gym, the owner must confirm in the app that the member agreed in person to receive membership updates and offers from that gym via Beetle on WhatsApp. We record when and by whom this was confirmed. Without it, no messages are sent.
What we send
| When | What it says |
|---|---|
| 3 days before the membership ends | A reminder to renew |
| On the last day of the membership | The membership ends today |
| 1 day after | The membership has ended; renew at the gym |
| 7 days after, if not renewed | An invitation to come back |
| 15 days after, if not renewed | A final reminder to renew |
Messages stop as soon as the member renews. Gyms may also send occasional notices, festival wishes or offers to members who agreed to receive them. Messages are sent only between 9 AM and 8 PM IST.
How to stop messages
- Reply STOP to any message. UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END and QUIT also work. Messages from that gym stop immediately.
- Or use the opt-out button WhatsApp shows on promotional messages.
- Or ask your gym to turn off messages for you.
After opting out, you will only receive messages again if you ask your gym to restart them.
Replies
Beetle does not run a chat inbox. If you reply with anything other than STOP, you may get one automatic message with your gym's contact details. For questions about your membership, contact your gym directly.
Complaints
If you received a message you didn't agree to, tell us at paaw4nnn.2005@gmail.com or +91 95750 02535. We will stop the messages and look into the gym's use of Beetle.
